THE COCKTAIL THAT TASTES OF ROSES IS THE ELIXIR OF IBIZA.

In Ibiza, the perfect daytime destination for islanders and tourists is undoubtedly Cotton Beach Club. A paradise in Cala Tarida where the top class restaurant welcomes clients each day who know how to enjoy all the senses.

The icing on the cake is added by Álvaro Salas Vargas at the bar, making it possible for everyone who visits to enjoy impressive cocktails.

Álvaro tells us that arriving on the White Isle showed him how much passion he would have for cocktail making. He spent the first 3 years at the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza learning from his colleagues. This aroused his curiosity for mixes and spirits, so he decided to undergo more extensive training as a Bartender at the House of Mixology.

His concept of cocktail making took an unexpected and complete twist. His mind was opened to an unknown world by investigating, discovering products and meeting the interesting people involved in this profession.

After this period training and absorbing everything like a sponge, he began his new and motivating professional adventure at Cotton Beach Club where he continues to work after two years.

At present, he states that he loves his work and really enjoys seeing people savour the cocktails he makes.

Of course, his hunger for knowledge knows no bounds and we are sure that he will give people a lot to talk about.

We weren´t going to leave this idyllic island setting without trying the dazzling flavour of the “Lychee Rose Martini” cocktail, prepared by him, as one of the ingredients is the subtle rose syrup:

– LYCHEE ROSE MARTINI –

  • 1 1/2 oz. Belvedere vodka
  • 1/2 oz. Lychee liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. Rose syrup Sanz
  • 1/2 oz. Lychee purée
  • 3 oz. Sweet and sour
  • Glass: Martini
  • Method: Shake
  • Garnish: Rose petal

Thanks Álvaro for your great hospitality.
